My yemen chameleon is always drinking water from leaves?

My 6 month old yemen is always drinking from the leaves, everytime i look at his cage hes drinking. Is this normal. And I have been offering him about 5 crickts/locusts whatever a day and he will only eat 2.3. How much should he be eating?
