Transferring from BYU Idaho to BYU Provo?

I got accepted to BYU Idaho but not BYU Provo. It wasn't a huge surprise given my crappy ACT score. However, BYU Provo is the only school for me. I want to go there and study animation and film. I was just wondering how easy it is to transfer? Someone told me BYU Idaho won't let you transfer to Provo till after 2 years. They also said that a lot of credits don't transfer, which seems weird to me. Is this true?
