Does anyone remember this children's show?

I'm trying to figure out the name of this older children's televison show that remember. I don't remember much though! Sorry! What I do know is that this show was animated (not the new 3D kind of animation, think late 90's, early 2000's) and had a buffalo or bison as one of the characters. There were a bunch of kids as well. The kids would tell talk about things in their own life and the buffalo would relate it to some ancient story in history and try to teach them a lesson from it or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about or remember the name? It's been driving me crazy!
