well from the story it seems you want to have a serious relationship with her have you told her how you feel ? (about her off course) love & having a friendship is fine but maybe you need to go little further ? but i guess because you & her are shy. you just need to let you're feelings out maybe make the 1st move if you looking for a serious relationship but their might be a problem if she only want to be friends but no harm on telling her how you feel.
