Do remote starts normally affect seat memory settings ? or just climate control ?

We have a new Lincoln navigator with a remote start. When used it not only starts the climate control at the level it was the last time but also sets up my husband's memory settings for the drivers seat, making it awkward for him to get in the vehicle ! Is this normal ? Only we ordered the remote start with the vehicle but it was missed out and we're not sure if the importer put the proper one on subsequently or perhaps used a cheaper version ! Any ideas folks ? Gill
