My son is seven months old and he eats what we eat. We keep mashing to a minimum and give him little pieces at a time to "chew" and he does very well. Start feeding your little one table food with minimal seasoning and see how it goes. The fact that she cries when your husband offers but then doesn't feed it to her means she's ready. Good luck.
